When you first became a Christian, what did you expect your life would look like?
Did you think you’d always be happy and content, constantly singing God’s praises from a heart overflowing with joy? Were you surprised to find that all your problems had not vanished? Did you feel angry or confused that suffering was not excluded from your new life with Jesus?
True vs. Selfish Service
Part of living out the Christian faith is being completely selfless. This is much easier said than done in a world that preaches about greatness and personal gain. We earn countless treasures on earth and store up none in Heaven. Unfortunately, there are many Christians that have twisted the idea of service into a selfish act than benefits themselves over God. Because these selfish people have mastered the art of masking their true intentions, it is hard to see and find selfish service in action.
