OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE ORTHODOX CHURCH IN KENYA ON JOSEPH BLACK:
Dear Oasis Readers,
We greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, as we call for your prayers for his son and our brother Joseph Black who was arrested in January at the Airport in Nairobi Kenya as he was heading to the USA to respond to and be arraigned for some allegations raised against him there. Before his departure he had requested and was already awarded a leave of absence on his pastoral and academic positions in Kenya pending his return.
We are legally, spiritually, and emotionally caring for Dr Joseph Black as the situation unfolds and are working with all well wishers and people of goodwill like his publishers at Oasis International to take appropriate action as the law allows and as the truth of his allegations comes to light. Please keep him, his family, and all those working to help his current situation in your prayers.
We shall keep you informed as things unfold.
In Christ,
For the Orthodox Archbishop and Orthodox Seminary Dean
Very Rev Fr.Evangelos Thiani (ThD)
