Statement of Faith


Adopted from the Evangelical Christian Publishing Association. Supporting articles on basic evangelical belief and values from the Africa Study Bible notated in parenthesis (2016 edition page numbers).

1. We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (The Bible-Writing, History, Reliability pg. 1800).
2. We believe there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (The Trinity pg. 258, Creation pg. 6).
3. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His present rule as Head of the Church and in His personal return in power and glory (Is Jesus both God and Man pg.1563, Atonement pg. 154).
4. We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential (Salvation pg. 1535).
5. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life (The Holy Spirit pg. 1058).
6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the barrenness of damnation (Fall pg. 9, Sin pg. 819, Sanctification pg. 1763, Grace pg. 1823).
7. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with justice across racial, gender, and class differences (Umbuntu, pg. 1894, Justice pg. 1066).

Moral Standards

The following standards are in accordance with the following Africa Study Bible articles: Christians in Business pg. 608, Sexuality and Purity pg. 976, Interpreting the Bible pg. 1214, Discipleship pg. 1524, Man and Woman pg. 1711, Faith pg. 1833, Living Holy Lives pg. 1870.

As the Word of God is inspired and infallible, we believe in living in accordance with its teachings and instructions to the best of our abilities. We encourage one another to live righteously and holy lives that glorify our Creator. This includes but is not limited to the characteristics of integrity, truthfulness, and the qualities listed in Galatians 5.

We believe in the sanctity of life and marriage. As such we support life beginning at conception (Ps 139 13-16) and see marriage as a commitment between one man and one woman (Mal 2:16, Mat 19:3-9, Mar 10:2-12). We support singleness as well and encourage sexual purity outside of marriage. We also support God’s gift of gender of male or female with which we were each skillfully crafted in the womb (Gen 1:27, 5:1-2, Mat 19:4, Mark 10:6).

Because we want our work to reflect what we believe, all of our directors, officers, and employees subscribe to Oasis International’s Statement of Faith. And while we recognize that there is disagreement among Christians on certain points of Christian doctrine and application, the Leadership Team of Oasis International is vested with the sole discretion to interpret the meaning and application of this Statement of Faith and Moral Standards.
